I like the stuff you post anyway - it's nice to discover new things based on your recommendations.

I would love anything by "Spud" a great Irish folk-rock band - I have one album on a squeaky old musiccassete. But none of their albums have been reissued on CD!

But if not, keep going as before

I would also like to hear "Time Will Pass" by Spriguns.

To French Drake fan.

Thanks for your comments.
There is tons of CDs and LPs repressed by several bootleggers after limited original pressing selling out.
Some are "bit better" but most of them are nearly same quality as original.
I think that there is a limit to mastering such home recordings & demos.

Take care...

Hi all together!
I need your help to identify a particular song I heard in the radio in 1973 (!!!). As far as I can remember it must have been a new record release at that time.
Fortunately I could record 1 and a half songs on my tape deck, so I ask you now kindly to listen to these songs. You find them here:

http://www.oekon.de/mp3/anonymous1.mp3

It is a very fine sort of folkrock.
Please listen - maybe you can help me to find what I try to since more than 30 years...
Thanks

Bob Pegg & Nick Strutt a 70s British folk duo with ties to Fairport and the Mr Fox band I think. You don't see much of their stuff now. I am especially looking for song called 'The Hedgerow Song' been after it for years. The album The Shipbuilder' is great also.

Keep up the great work this is one of my fave blogs.

You will be pleased to hear that his classic early albums have just been released at last on a double CD called "Keeper of the Fire" - it includes the "Bob Pegg & Nick Strutt" album, "Ancient Maps" and "The Shipbuilder" as well as some unreleased material. In the UK it costs £8.99 - a bargain!

EXCELLENT POP FOLKY BANDS!

I wish you could download "Tranquility" their 1st and 2nd album..they were a great folk rock band.

One you haven't mentioned would be the bizzare album 9and album cover) "Pigeon" that has a real pigeon in a sandwich, but they have a real trippy folk song called "milk & honey"!

First off, let me thank you for a fantastic site. So much of your rare acid/folk music is now in my collection - some I thought I'd never see again and some I'd never heard of but which are now firm favourites. I have only one request, "The Going's Easy" by The Greatest Show On Earth (UK horn and organ driven prog 1970). I have just found their first album, "Horizons" and it's fantastic. I have even happier memories of their second and can only hope you have it and would be kind enough to share. Please keep up the good work. Cheers.

Hi Lizardson,

Do you have or have you heard Hard Cash,1989-90 featuring Richard Thompson, the Watersons, Martin Carthy, June Tabor? Had been written for a BBC documentary but never shown. I have a vinyl copy that an ex-house mate scratched to death while drunk!

Thanks for everything.

Hi,

I love your blog! I have downloaded several days worth of music already, and check daily for more. I really appreciate it.

Do you have "Under the Tree" by Shide and Acorn? I found "Princess of the Island" and "Legend of the Dream Stones" on other blog sites - the only one left for me to hear is "Under the Tree." That's my request! Yoroshiku!

Do you have any Shide and Acorn? Specifically, I am looking for "Under the Tree." I found other Shide and Acorn records on other blogs, and really enjoyed them, but this record seems very rare.

I love your blog! Thanks for all your hard work, I am learning a lot about folk music.
