If the copyright owners don't want people to copy it, why not reissue the album on CD so people can obtain it legally? The music industry keeps whining that people are not buying music legally, but half the stuff we actually want to buy is not available - look at eBay prices and you can spot dozens, or even hundreds, of albums that it would be profitable for someone to reissue. Why don't they?
Recently DMCA asked blog psych and nuggets to cancel links of bootleg comps "soft sounds for...".So it seems everybody can ask something to DMCA,bootlegs sellers, people having an auction on ebay...Don't always think that artists or labels are the firsts to ask DMCA to cancel links.
One thing to do is to go to your blogger account and be sure to remove your blog from google search results. The DMCA people do searches for their content, then attack the blogs that show up. Rely on word of mouth to spread about your blog instead of google search hits and you'll get quality blog readers not trolls looking to shut you down.
Man, this is all a drag. This is one, if not the best blog around. Thanks for you doing what you've done so well over the years. I hope things work out...take care!
...........what a lot of b******s , I'm with "private beach" on this .......it seems petty to deny people sharing music that is not available anywhere else .it ain't as if they even lose money a sale , get of their fat arses and release such music on CD , re-mastered issues would be far more attractive to me than a low bit-rate download .........I just can't see the argument from the industry on this other than just being mean...I hope father christmas is too fat to get down their chimney-pot.
........... G.V.T.Co. were on "Greasy Truckers - At Dingwalls Dancehall ".......... which you posted (Thanks).but how about the rest of the double-album ? The first Greasy Truckers album has been re-issued (in extended form) but not the second instalment so I'd like to have that posted !
