was remade into a play recently though, and it was awesome. it's about a kid who "kills" his father and then moves to another irish town and he becomes a hero in that town for killing his father, until, spoiler whatever. thanks

Not quite accurate ... The Playboy of the Western World is a three-act play written by John Millington Synge and first performed at the Abbey Theater Dublin, 1n 1907.
Synge died in 1909.
