Nice post. Thanks for this and all the others.
I once met Joe Ryan at a crossroads (!) in Belfast where he quite fortuitously asked me the way to Rab Cherry's Workshop. I couldn't resist saying "You're Joe Ryan, aren't you? I've just bought your CD". He was too stunned to speak, but its nice to make someone's day. Lovely music.
