Louis Killen

Ballads and Broadsides (Topic Records) 1965

After appearing on several Topic Eps and compilations this was Louis' first full solo album recorded by Bill Leader in 1964/65. Mostly unaccompanied and drawing heavily on material from 'The Penguin Book Of English Folk Songs' this album set the standard for folk club singers at the time.

Side A:
1. Young Edwin In The Low Lands Low
2. As We Were A Sailing
3. The Flying Cloud
4. All Things Are Quite Silent

Side B:
1. One May Morning
2. The Cock
3. The Bramble Briar
4. Thorneymoor Woods
5. The Banks Of Sweet Primroses

Rats - It's not actually missing but for some reason the wav file didn't get cut properly - it's the second half of The Cock. I can probably recut and repost it but it won't be for another week now. If you have Audacity or some such programme it's an easy enough job to cut the track and then retag the files.

Sorry...

I must say, I'm a big fan of Killen's accent. Look forward to hearing this.
