Paul K

This post is about singer/songwriter Paul K. Paul K came through my attention with his album The Big Nowhere which was described, at the time, 1992, as a kind of new Gram Parsons. I was intrigued but found out Paul K had more to do with rock music then with Gram Parsons. That said... he had certainly his country elements, especially on the Big Nowehere.

What I didn't know was that Paul K had released already a series of cassettes which were distributed through concerts. When the Big Nowhere was released, K was certainly no longer new in the business. I remember seeing Paul K several times, with and without a band and those concerts were always memorable. Especially the concerts during the time The Killer In The Rain was released. At that time, Paul K seemed to have to do more with Neil Young & Crazy Horse then with country and folk music (I saw Paul K solo in a package with David Olney, Townes van Zandt, Guy Clark, Alex Chilton and Tom Pacheco)

Since then Paul K regularly released cd's with mixed success. Most of the albums were hailed by the critics as good but mostly ignored by the public. If you haven't heard of Paul K, this is your chance and please... take it... he's good, he's very good...

Paul K is one of the few artists who understand the modern times. All his albums except one or two are available for download on Archive.org acknowledged by Paul K himself. He said... "I will earn my money by playing live... "

Paul K is an artist who deserves people buying his records. The problem is that many of his records are very difficult to find but some are available through www.paulkweathermen.com

You can also find information at

I've run this site for about 10 years now. I need to update it with some of the newer stuff Paul has released. I'll get to that someday. There is also an email list on Yahoo Groups, but it's been pretty quiet lately.
