In my opinion, there's way too much dross on this Honeybus anthology.
About a third of the songs are brilliant, a third are so-so and the other third gets close to embarrassing.
To get just the really good stuff, try:
Honeybus - The Best of Honeybus

How can anyone call "She Sold Blackpool Rock" or "Do I Still Figure In Your Life" dross?
I hope you like the selection, then, Lizardson.
I should say that by 'so-so' I really mean 'so-so to pretty good.' Some of them are very respectable indeed. But what I wanted was to come up with was a Beatles-quality album - one that skims the cream of Honeybus's output and shows that at their best they were as good as anyone else around at the time, including the Fabs.
Such a shame they didn't have a killer LP ready to reinforce the success of 'Maggie.'
Private Beach, did I call either song dross? They're among the ones I was referring to when I wrote 'pretty good.'
Nonetheless, I don't enjoy listening to them as often as those on the compilation.
