Brian Andrew Marek - The Lair EP
Well, revrev's comments were so kind and so appreciated, I thought I'd upload another disc I put together recently. Still more-or-less lo-fi, but the overall sound is greatly improved - it was all recorded this year or last. The nine home recordings are rounded out by five rare live solo performances, bringing this "EP" to a respectable album length! Enjoy...

Just downloaded both archives last night... looking forward to listening! We love the lo-fi here at Sort Of Records!
Damn! The wife has kept me too busy all day to hear this. But now, at near midnight, comes the treat of the day. Thanks for the post. I'll get back to you after hearing this. I was like a kid on xmas eve waiting!
Simply wonderful! Where have you been hiding yourself? Have you a press-kit? Any wider exposure? These tracks are mind bending in their simplicity. Sheer poetry set to astounding music.
Revrev, I can't tell you how gratifying the comments are! I love posting my music in places like this because I know it'll be heard by (and commented on by) true music lovers with educated tastes.
To be frank, my greatest heights of exposure thusfar have probably been (a) playing in a band that opened for known national acts, (b) playing in a band that regularly tours overseas, but getting canned before I got to do so, and (c) having my music on this wonderful, ecclectic, internationally read blog!
I'm well over any young ambitions to "make it" or "get signed" (the very phrases kind of make me laugh now - oh, the things you learn over the years), but if a small label with decent distribution were to offer to put my music in everybody's local CD emporium, I'd probably play ball. I just want my music to be as available to people as possible.
If you want to hear what I've been up to with various bands, stuff by Rocket Park and Bargain Basement has already been posted on Time Has Told Me, or you can just go to my MySpace page (click my underlined name above), scroll down a bit, and there's several full albums available for download on the left side.
I will check out those links. Your accomplishment once again proves that ambition causes ruination. Once we give in to ambition, we automatically fail. I cannot tell you how many people I have known who eagerly desired to be rich and famous by the time they were 25. Those who survived and "made it" found themselves in a hell of their own making. The rest became instant "failures" at 26. Who needs that? Once we stop buying into other people's definition of success, then we can truly succeed. We were not put here to be "successful," we were put here to be ourselves. You don't succeed more than that. Luckily we now ive in an age where the artist need no longer rely on corporate submission. Freedom rocks.
I've heard from a number of people who said they don't have RAR, couldn't run it on their computer, et cetera, so I've changed all my upload links to ZIP archives for everybody's convenience. Enjoy!
