Martin Carthy & Dave Swarbrick "No Songs" 1967
(Mono EP)

redsuffolk said...
This scarce, instrumental EP was released in 1967.
As far as I am aware tracks 1, 4 and 6 have never seen the light of day since then.
1 Gillen's Apples/Snug In The Blanket
2 Grey Delight/Jenny's Chickens
3 The Banks
4 The Bee's Wing
5 The Irish Washerwoman/The Ash Plant
6 Reconciliation
All tracks trad. arr. Martin Carthy / Dave Swarbrick pub Sparta Florida Music Group
Sleeve Notes by Terry Brown:
I wanted Martin to write these sleeve notes, so when he came into my office the other day I sat him down with a piece of paper and said: “Write!” I wandered off for about an hour to complete various jobs - on my return I found Martin staring glumly at the piece of paper on which he had written ...
It seemed like a good idea at the time
... that was all!
I'm convinced it still is a good idea; and so will you when you listen to this unusual instrumental offering by Martin and Dave.

Hallo,
I have just uploaded this early Greg Brown album (The poet game) thought you may enjoy it .

Wow, thanks for this rarity. But... I can't extract the zip archive -- there seems to be a permission issue. Can you advise?
Thanks.
Many thanks to redsuffolk for providing the Carthy Swarbrick rarity my copy is really so bad I never attempted to rip it. Yours on the other hand is well worth working on.
I have done some "breathing" on it to remove the record noise and the worst of the clicks, it is on Rapidshare now as:
http://rapidshare.com/files/68623170/
MC-DS-NS.rar
Those of you having problems with expanding the original zip, may try this RAR file..
More like this please..
Thanks, gonzo, for the upgrade.
Hello,
Thanks to redsuffolk for putting this up. I'm a Swarb fan from Holand. Saw him for the first time in '69. I'm 55 now and I never thought I'd find this material. But there you are , the world wibe web possibillities are infinite.
Thank you so much
