Gordon Bok "Bay of Fundy" 1975

Hi Lizardson,
Your blog is fantastic, and I'd like to contribute. One of my favorite artists since childhood has been Maine's Gordon Bok, and I think the THTM community would enjoy his work as well. If this goes over well, I have a LOT of Bok material to contribute.
First up: Bay of Fundy, from 1975. The brooding, meditative title track is something of a classic, as is the driving "Mister, I Don't Mind." Other highlights include the anguished "Little RIver" and "Snow Gull," which features vocals by future long-time collaborator Ann Mayo Muir--but even the weaker tracks are enhanced by Bok's deep, instantly-recognizable voice.
Track listing:
01. Western Boat
02. Little River
03. Snow Gull
04. Queer Bungo Rye
05. Fifteen Ships on George's Bank
06. Mister, I Don't Mind
07. Bay of Fundy
08. Come by the Hills
09. Kirsteen Christinn
10. Dublin City
11. The Texas Song
12. Broken Down Squatter
13. Freedom on the Wallaby

I haven't heard of this guy before, but he's good. Reminds me a bit of Stan Rogers. I especially like the title track. Nice post, Geox. Thanks.
Gordon Bok - a great performer and this is a great album. Any chance of listing his "Return to the Land" Album?
I've got a lot of Gordon Bok's stuff on vinyl--first heard him 30-odd years ago and have been a fan ever since. If you have them available, "Peter Kagan and the Wind" and "A Tune for November" are two great early albums. An excellent post on an excellent blog. Thanks.
Wow! Thanks for this. .. and you say you have lots more? Excellent! I can't wait.
Thank you! I love Gordon Bok, and especially the trio work with Ann Mayo Muir and Ed Trickett. I would love to hear his "Peter Kagan and the Wind."
Return to the Land will be up soon, presumably. I sent an email to Lizardson. After that: A Tune for November, Peter Kagan, and lots of Bok, Muir & Trickett stuff.
As a New Englander now in South Carolina, I'm happy to hear folk music about the ocean and bays I called home. MORE, PLEASE!
