Woods Band

Hi Lizardson.

It's about time I made a contribution. I saw The Woods Band live sometime in the early 70s (I seem to remember they were wonderfully LOUD, with Terry Woods playing a solid electric mandola) and went straight out and bought their album. I still love it, all these years later. More acoustic than their live performance, it still has some great tunes and songs.

Hope you guys like it.

Thanx Manila
We all love Woods Band!

Thank you as always. I don't know how much you like to take requests...but, well, I saw you had that Archie Fisher album up (kudos!), and let me just say that if you could post his sister Ray's album Willie's Lady, I would be even more eternally grateful than I already am.

I'm sorry, I should have given a little more info.

On leaving Steeleye Span, Gay and Terry Woods formed The Woods Band. This is the only album, released in 1971, by that line-up. (I say 'that line-up' because Terry recently reformed the band, though Gay is not a member.)

'The Woods Band'

Tracks:

1. Noisey Johnny
2. Dreams
3. January's Snows
4. Lament and Jig: Valencia Lament/Apples in Winter
5. Over the Bar/Road to Athy
6. As I Roved Out
7. Promises
8. Everytime

A Google search will come up with the cover. Sorry, I will try to include more detail in my next post. Enjoy!
