It's great to have these on CD (well, they will be soon). I've also seen this listed as "Trees Live". I have an old tape with these tracks on, but my tape also adds another Bob Harris session from 1972 with four tracks: Friar Tuck Gets His; The Innocent Hare; Van Dieman's Land; and Polly On The Shore. Trees fans will know that the first three of these are unreleased - perhaps they would have appeared on a third Trees album if there had been one. The mp3 names are all correct, except for the last which should be "Bergen Polka" (I can also hear "Shepherd's Hey" in the medley there).
These tracks aren't "live" as in a live concert (unless the audience was very quiet!), they're studio sessions. The sound quality, as you say, isn't great, but it's perfectly listenable - and considering it was probably recorded by somebody at home 35 years ago it's as good as you could expect!
Many thanks for this!

Correction to previous comment: There's ANOTHER bootleg called "Trees Live" which has the four extra tracks I mentioned plus some of the tracks from "On The BBC"
Yet again, thank you!
God bless.
The "sound engineer" listed on the boots is Francis Lai (http://www.francis-lai.com/), the composer best known for A Man and A Woman and lots of good Saravah releases. I guess he was slated to do the 3rd Trees LP of which many of these songs are warmups. There is also the Phil Trainer LP from 71(?) in which most of the Trees backup an American rock singer. Unfortunately his songs suck. Someone's selling the Trees Live LP on ebay right now (http://cgi.ebay.com/TREES-live-LP-Rare-Acid-Folk-Psych-ON-THE-SHORE-NM_W0QQitemZ300005902824QQihZ020QQcategoryZ306QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem). Does anyone know if there are more Trees related releases out there? They're one of the best of the genre in my book. Thanks THTM!
Thanks for this! Too bad about Snail's Lament beginning and end. Has always been a big favorite.
Are there tapes/versions with a complete take of this?
thank you, thank you!
