David Wiffen

Live At The Bunkhouse Coffeehouse (1965)

English singer/songwriter Wiffen moved to Canada at age 16. He started his music career with appearances at the Village Corner club in Toronto. After that he hitch-hiked across Canada where he ended up as manager of the Calgary coffeehouse The Depression.
In 1965 he was invited to perform at Vancouver's Bunkhouse with an ensemble of other musicians for a live album and when none of the other acts showed up the recording was continued. The result was Wiffen's first solo album 'David Wiffen Live At The Bunkhouse'.
This album has become very rare, 2 years ago it was auctioned at e-bay, and was sold for $ 2.175

hello riverman61,

thanks for the links, but the tracks 8 and 9 of the "DAVID WIFFEN - David Wiffen" are faulty, and the rapidshare link is no longer valid. Could you please repost the albums, as they are both excellent and I have been searching for along time. thanks in advance

Hello:

Thanks for this. David Wiffen is one of my favourite artists.

Would you be able to please upload a higher-quality rip, in a higher bitrate? I see I am not the only one who would like this.

Thank you.

The new higher-bitrate rip of Bunkhouse posted by Anonymous on 23 September, 2010 is bogus. It is not a true rip.

All he has done is to re-encode the original 128 kbps rip, transforming it to 320 kbps. (Proven by examining specrals.) He is either ignorant, since you cannot gain quality by transcoding a low rate rip to a higher rate, or he is purposely trying to fool us.

I, and others, would sure love it if the original ripper who owns the vinyl record could post a fresh rip at a higher bitrate, preferably lossless FLAC. That would be fantastic!

I saw him a number of times in Ottawa around the time of the two studio albums. Always one of my favourites.
