This recording is the copyright og Gael Linn and it is an infringement of copyright to offer the recording on this site.
Indeed,
This site seems to have an unhealthy disregard for the simple matter of copyright. The link should be deleted.
make that a _healthy_ disregard...
this item is listed as "out of stock" on the Gael Linn website. Not terribly likely to ever be in stock again. It's a wonderful album, but not well known. In the grand scheme, the world would be a better place with this music more easily available, and the artists would not be missing out on any considerable amount of income.
Oh well, I'd like to express my thanks for the opportunity to download and listen to it. never heard of it before. Would certainly like to buy the album. Can you please provide info on where it can be bought?
Yeah I would have really liked to hear this album. I don't think this site is particularly bad re: copyright, most of this stuff probably has never seen the light of CDs. If it has and is in print, fair play. If it's not, it's folk music and honestly I'm happy enough to see it available. I've found a lot of really good music here that I wouldn't have otherwise, and I'll pass it around and if any of these guys ever make it around again I'll buy their new album.
I believe Eithne took her own life several years ago. Her recording with Gerry O'Conner, La Lugh, is really amazing. Her voice is totally contagious. If anyone has this available, please let me know.
whoops...I think this post would have my email address linked to it if you want to get in touch.

Actually, Patrick,
You're completely wrong!
Gael Linn is going through the process of reissuing every single album from its back catalogue in CD format (and my authority for that remark is the label's MD).
Why not wait for the official re-releases?
thanks anonymous!
Thanks Hermano for the wonderful news that Gael Linn will re-release them. About time! Big thanks to this page for making me aware of Eithne! (Couldn't even find info on her or the record on O'Connor's pages)
Hermano,
That's great news. I kind of have a hard time believing it. Their entire catalog? That's like thousands of obscure records dating back to the 1950s. Is that really true? I'd love to hear some of the old Sean Nos recordings that were on Gael Linn, the Boston Public Library had a great collection of them and then through them all out in the mid 90s...a great waste.
Like I said, great news if it's true but I'm very suspicious as I don't think it would be economically viable. Is there any news of this online?
What a crock! Gael Linn has no intention of releasing it's entire back catalogue, half of this stuff couldn't make a profit the first time round, never mind now. This is a ruse. By the way Hermano - what is the name of the MD?
Antoine Ó Coileáin, Paddy Mac.
Paul Mc,
All the Gael Linn 78s are avalable on the double CD 'Seoltaí Séidte/Setting Sail'. Gael Linn has issued a good deal more than half of its album catalogue as CDs. There's still 80 or so to go, but these can be released in small quantities at very low cost.
Delighted to let you know that the CD version of Cosa gan Bhróga is now available from the Gael Linn website www.gael-linn.ie
