The Irish Rovers "Life Of The Rover" 1969
This quintet started out in the late '50s (curiously, by way of Canada) and by the mid-'60s were a popular folk ensemble on television on two continents. Although their work, exuberant and boisterous, with relatively little scholarship, and lacking a traditional sound, became less fashionable with the ascent of groups like the Chieftains, the Irish Rovers continue to have a devoted core following. ~ Bruce Eder, All Music Guide

This is my favorite Irish Rovers LP. I haven't spun the vinyl in quite a while..and I've been waiting for a cd release and haven't seen one so, I just wanted to thank you for a digital copy! Thank very much for this post..regards,John.
It seems that during the 60's and 70's the Irish groups in the diaspora stayed more Irish then those at home, which continued to evolve. Australias "Leprechans" among them. But I agree with Anon that this is a sweet record- gentle yet vibrant of unbroken spirit
up on the misty mountain
down in the rushy glen
we daren't go a hunting
for fear of little men
