See you someday!!

Time Has Told Me [June 22nd 2006 - May 29th 2007]

by Lizardson

*HDD = Hard Disk Drive (250GB, 4000 albums)

I can't fix the problem and 4000 albums will never back again...
But I don't want to call it The End.
Please wait for my next action!!

Thank you so much!!

  9. Say it isn't so!

Lizardson, if it is true, and you must retire, then let me be the first to say thank you ever so much for making my life richer.

Otsukaresama deshita! We will miss you terribly.

  10. Dear Lizardson,

Many thanks for your excellent blog and for all the hours you have put into it over the past year. It has definitely been the best and most informative blog about obscure folk music (and other good music too).

Thanks to you I have expanded my musical horizons and had a chance to listen to things I didn't even know existed before (many of them never even reissued). A special mention for your headers too - a different one for each section of your blog.

Although I will miss my daily visits I'm not surprised you have decided to call it a day - to maintain that quality over a long period takes a lot of dedication - well, this is to let you know that it's been appreciated.

All the best for the future - and THANKS!

  17. Hey Lizardson - your blog was one of the best. I got some great stuff here and learnt a lot about music I wouldn't otherwise have known about. I owe you a debt of gratitude. All the best, mate....

  18. I've got a great deal out of this blog and probably should've been leaving a lot more comments. I think its been one of the best that I've discovered and since at least a couple of the other greats have been forced out of existence I sincerely hope you're not going the same way.
Very sad to hear about your computer trouble. Are you sure it's not salvageable? Or could we set up an aid line to help you recover a computer and the material lost? Not sure what help I could be since a lot of your material was stuff I first discovered here. Thanks for that and I do hope you can continue.

  19. Thanks for everything, Lizardson, it's a pitty what happened :(

But this is not necessarily the end. You've been uploading albums for a long time, and now many of those albums are in many pc's around the net. So you could provide us a e-mail address, and we could send you our music list. Then, you would ask us to upload those albums you want, or you had, and ...
I don't know many other ways, but I'd like to help

  20. My heart goes out to you, Lizardson. I'm pretty good at backing up to DVD, but things like these makes me think I should be much more diligent.

  21. You've probably tried the tricks but I hear that if you put the drive in the freezer overnight, sometimes you can get it to work for a while - maybe long enough to get some of the albums copied to another drive.

If that doesn't work, I will donate US$50 toward the costs of data recovery. Who else will step forward and contribute to the cause of rare and extraordinary music?

  22. No, no, no don't put the drive in the freezer, in the microwaves oven is better...

  24. I'm really sorry to hear about your HDD and even more so if you decide to abandon this great blog.
Like so many have already said: thank you for the great music you've shared.

  25. Lizardson, thanks for all your work. I hope you come back! There are specialists who can recover dead HDDs...it may be expensive. GOOD LUCK!

  30. Lizardson, A "Seagate 500" is my suggestion. These drives just purr like a kitty! Thanks for many fine shares. Will look for the next mutation.

  31. Sorry to hear about that--this has been one of my favorite blogs & I hope you'll return to blogging. Having had a hard drive completely burned out (along with the rest of the computer) after a lightning strike I know how you feel.

  32. "Donating an ammount for the hard disk recovery finds me positive. Others please? "

I second the idea for a Seegate 500 hard drive
I am also prepared to donate.

This is a fantastic blog and must be kept alive. It is UNIQUE and like an institution in Blogland
